Leonard Cheshire Disability

Leonard Cheshire Disability

Leonard Cheshire Disability supports thousands of disabled people both in the UK and in more than 50 other countries. We help people with physical impairments, learning difficulties and long-term health conditions, as well as their carers, friends and families.

The needs and aspirations of disabled people are at the heart of what we do. By providing services and helping everyone to understand disability and combat discrimination, we aim to remove the barriers that can stop people with disabilities from pursuing their goals and living their lives to the full.

My Involvement

As a child, Paul was introduced to Leonard Cheshire VC by his late, beloved uncle, Jack. He never forgot hearing about the Cheshire Homes, as the charity was known then and jumped at the opportunity of supporting it when planning the Dambusters’ Dinner in the House of Commons on 15th May 2013. The dinner was hosted by Sir Gerald Howarth MP.

Leonard Cheshire Disability had been selected by No 617 (The Dambusters) Squadron as its charity of the year and the dinner raised more than £12,000 in the auction alone.

At the same event, over £1,000 was also raised by raffling a pair of suitably engraved champagne flutes and a bottle of champagne, signed for the occasion, by the Prime Minister. The raffle was in aid of the  for the Barnes Wallis Memorial Trust.
